Our suburban garden features a little “apple avenue”, a group of three Betula jacquemontii, a medlar tree and plenty of hardy plants. There are plants on display in pots, notably acers, auriculas, bonsai trees, hostas and sempervivums. Otherwise, the emphasis is firmly on traditional hardy plants which are usually at their peak in mid-July. The small front garden is a largely flower-free zone planted as “a green Thought in a green Shade”. Also visit the lovely garden of near neighbour, Kath Robins, so do allow some extra time for that! | Admission £3 (accompanied children free) with proceeds to the Hardy Plant Society and Reach UK’s “Flower Pod” project. Refreshments and plants for sale. |
