Flower Power Fairs is delighted to be able to tell you all that I shall be holding the last three plant fairs of the season - sorry for those of you based in the wrong area, but I am thrilled with at least being able to hold three events.

Where are they?

Our first Fair this year will be on

The fair will be held inside the magnificent Walled and Kitchen Gardens and as always, there will be a mouth watering collection, and selection, of plants, shrubs, climbers, perennials and everything else on sale.  I also have six magnificent garden accessory stands too selling anything from bug and hog homes to hand made wire sculptures and wonderful hand made glass structures.

The plant nurseries include Roanne Nursery, Gatekeeper Nursery, Jurassic Plants, Through the Garden Gate, Red Dial Nurseries, Dark Star Plants, Northern Ark Nursery, The Tiny Plant Co and Fayrefield Horticultural & Landscaping.  We also welcome Primrose Bank Nursery from York (new to Flower Power Fairs) and Middlemore Nursery.

You can pre-book admission tickets now on line directly with Wynyard at www.wynyardhall.co.uk  and tickets start at £6.00 per person.
This ticket then entitles you to an ANNUAL PASS for 12 months so well worth coming along if only to grab your garden pass.  For those of you already with an annual pass, admission will be £2.00.
There will also be a Farmer's Market outside the Walled Garden that day - admission free.

WE ARE OPEN FROM 10am - 5pm.

As the staff (and garden) have been furloughed since March, it was felt that it would be unwise to open the gardens up for this event so the fair will be held at the North front of the Hall on the gravelled forecourt. There will be no refreshments but portable toilets will be available on the park beside the Hall. Sandon Hall are opening a series of drive in movies, held on the lawns beside the Hall, so don't worry if you see a huge screen as you drive up.

Reduced admission of £2.00 per person for the plant fair.

For those of you who would like to explore "The Sleeping Gardens" of Sandon, admission is by voluntary donation and I would really recommend you have a peep. You will never see the gardens looking wild again ... and wild flowers lovers, the lawns and banks are awash with wonderful meadow flowers, with lots of butterflies, hoverflies, bees and day time moths. It's magical. www.sandonhall.co.uk

WE ARE OPEN FROM 9am - 2pm.  Dogs welcome. Note the earlier times. This is to link in with their Drive In Cinema presentations.  If you wish you could stay longer and visit the movies too!

and finally

Newburgh needs no introduction to the hundreds of you who, like me, have fallen in love with this magical place.  There will be a full compliment of over 20 stands so I so look forward to seeing you all again.  Please note there is unlikely to be any catering but Mr Wombwell assures me the toilets will be open.

On a sadder note, I lost my beloved hubby, Mike on Saturday 18 April to Covid 19.  He had been ill for some time, and was in recovery from a bowel cancer operation but sadly, whilst at Aintree Hospital, he was infected with Covid and died.  We didn't get to say goodbye and in fact I didn't see him for the last month of his life.  Since his death my world has been surreal but I will carry on, as he would have wished and wanted me to do.  He wasn't just my husband, he was also my best friend, fiercest critic but also my biggest fan.  He leaves a huge hole in my life.  Mike Popley 1947-2020.

And now on a more cheerful note:  I have seven plant fairs already booked in for 2021. These are Newburgh Priory, April and August, Kiplin Hall in May, Leighton Hall, Sion Hill Hall, Coverham Abbey and Worsall Hall in June and I'm waiting to hear back from Rode Hall and Holme Pierrepont Hall.  We shall also be returning to Constable Burton and Wynyard (dates to be confirmed).

So sad to be hearing that the RHS are already cancelling 2021 events including RHS Cardiff and RHS Chatsworth.  So please come along and support all the plant nurseries whose very livelihoods are on the edge ... literally.
