The Botanic Garden at Wollaton is looking glorious in early Summer. Open Sundays 2-4pm (not 20th July) and Wed/Thu/Fri am if the gate is open.
It is also known as Penstemon ‘Garnet'. Friedrich Hahn was a German astronomer. This easy, bushy and vigorous penstemon has masses of narrow, trumpet-shaped flowers that go on and on, right through the autumn. In May, when the risk of frost has passed, cut all the stems right to the ground. The trimmings can be potted up to provide more plants for free.
