We are enjoying the new season's gardening at The Botanic Garden at Wollaton. Open Sundays 2-4pm and Wed/Thu/Fri am if the gate is open.
This eye-catching plant, common name Wake-robin, grows wild in woodlands and is native to Eastern USA. Trilliums like moist but well-drained soil and a generous mulch of leaf-mould in the autumn. It can take between five to seven years for a plant to reach flowering size which is why we do not have any of this for sale.
Cultivation: to propagate, sow seed as soon as it is ripe. It can take years, however, for a plant to reach flowering size.
