Welcome

Nottingham Group

We are an active group with around 120 members. We organise a programme of winter meetings and summer outings for members. We have our own Botanic Garden within Wollaton Park, Nottingham.

Group membership is open to all members of the National Hardy Plant Society for an additional £5.00 per year.

We regularly hold plant sales at the Botanic Garden and at other events in and around Nottingham. We post about these here and on Facebook and Instagram (links below).

If you love plants and gardens then, whether you are new to gardening or an expert, there are plenty of reasons to join the Hardy Plant Society, Nottingham Group, not least of which is the congenial company of fellow plantaholics. The Lily bed in July.

We also organise Outings by coach to gardens and plant nurseries outside of the county and try to include beautiful gardens not generally open to the public. These memorable visits will inspire you when you return to work in your own garden. Meconopsis and Primulas at Sheffield Botanical Garden

Each year, between September and April, we offer monthly meetings with a programme of interesting and knowledgeable speakers. Entry is free to members apart from occasionally when a small charge is made for a talk by a celebrity speaker.

The Group looks after the Walled Botanic Garden in Wollaton Park in Nottingham. Members are welcome to join our sociable Wed/Thu/Fri morning work parties to help maintain and develop the garden and propagate plants for sale.
